Key Takeaways
- One of the only things that fans don’t like about Sparking Zero is its lack of customisation and outfits.
- That’s at least being fixed by modders, who have added in some of the most-requested fits.
- This includes Vegeta’s beloved Badman shirt and Piccolo’s driving outfit.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero modders have added some of the most beloved missing outfits to the game, such as Vegeta’s Badman shirt, Piccolo’s driving outfit, and Goku’s Cell Saga jacket.
Without a doubt, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is one of the best games the series has ever seen, right next to icons like Budokai Tenkaichi 3, FighterZ, and Kakarot. That being said, there are a few things about it that feel like they’re just shy of their Final Form and need a bit more work done.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s Story Mode Almost Made Me Go Super Saiyan
Even if you’ve played the original Budokai Tenkaichi games, you aren’t prepared for how tough Sparking Zero’s story mode is.
While Vegeta’s Episode Battle does come to mind when thinking about Sparking Zero’s trip-ups, the biggest example for most fans is the limited customisation. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great outfits in here such as Goku’s Yardrat fit and Gohan’s damaged Great Saiyaman costume, but overall there are a lot of iconic kits missing.
Sparking Zero Modders Are Adding Some Highly Requested Outfits
That’s exactly where modders come in. While we wait for Spike and Bandai to officially pump up Sparking Zero’s roster of costumes, the talented player base has been doing Kami’s work and, as highlighted by Kotaku, adding in some of the most beloved fits that are currently missing from the game.
Let’s start off with a personal favourite of mine – Vegeta’s Badman shirt. This gloriously pink shirt is worn by Vegeta when he meets Future Trunks for the first time, and it’s become a Dragon Ball Z staple. It’s strangely not in Sparking Zero at launch despite how iconic it is, but Nexus Mods creator Eherozenkai has righted that wrong with a great mod.
Then there’s Piccolo’s driving test outfit, which is another fan-favourite that everyone’s favourite dad wore during a filler episode of Dragon Ball Z. GameBanana modder ToastVrc is behind this mod, which brings the iconic Postboy outfit into Sparking Zero where it probably should have been all along.
Last but certainly not least is the jacket that Goku wears before the Cell Games in the Android Saga of Dragon Ball Z, which is known for its 59 emblem. This is arguably the most-requested outfit for Goku in all of Dragon Ball, which made it a shame that it wasn’t featured in Sparking Zero. That’s no longer the case, though, as ToastVrc has hit another home run with this mod.
There are plenty more mods out there that fix some of Sparking Zero’s missing
