With Slitterhead‘s launch just around the corner, a full list of achievements for the game has appeared online. Slitterhead is the debut title of Bokeh Game Studio, the studio formed by the creator of Konami’s acclaimed Silent Hill horror franchise, Keiichiro Toyama. A lot of anticipation and excitement has been buzzing around the game, as it features a blend of fast-paced action gameplay and psychological horror elements. Slitterhead also features some other well-known names, such as composer Akira Yamaoka, who also previously worked on Silent Hill.

Slitterhead is a unique horror experience that has the primary gameplay mechanic of possessing people through a supernatural spirit named Hyoki. As a spirit, the player aims to hunt and kill Slitterheads, who are beings that consume the brains and the memories of their victims. The upcoming action-horror game will have a set of achievements that players can collect, with this list giving intrigued fans an idea of what to expect from Slittherhead.

Slitterhead Originally Had a More “Open” Map Structure

In an interview with Game Rant, Bokeh Game Studio’s CEO discussed Slitterhead’s mission structure and how the maps were originally more open.

Based on a list posted on TrueAchievements, Slitterhead will have 41 achievements in total, with 23 of them being secrets until they are unlocked by reaching a specific story chapter or accomplishing a difficult task. The list on TrueAchievements also provides some details of the secret achievements separately from the list, as some of them do give spoilers on Slitterhead‘s story and plot beats, including the final boss. As such, if fans want to go in completely blind about Slitterhead‘s release, they should be wary and stay away from the names and conditions of these achievements.

Completion might be difficult, due to the “Apex Hyoki Legend” achievement, which asks players to beat Slitterhead on the Nightmare, which is harder than the Hard difficulty. There are also smaller Gamescores awarded for accomplishing certain tasks, such as defeating a certain number of Slitterhead‘s enemies in combat, causing civilian casualties, or activating Blood Time. Players can earn 1000 Gamerscore in total if they get everything. The story-related achievements seem to hint at branching decisions for certain bosses.

Other achievements in Slitterhead include collecting all the Rarity masks, costumes, and gathering all of Hyoki’s own memory fragments. There is also a particularly gory achievement called “You Dropped Something,” which requires the player to cut off a Slitterhead’s human parts for the first time. The Silent Hill 2 remake was recently released to positive critical reception, after a bit of trepidation. With Silent Hill 2 and Slitterhead having pretty close release windows, it should make for an interesting comparison between the two games, especially since the original creator of Silent Hill was behind the latter.

Set in the densely cluttered streets of “Kowlong,” filled with obscurity and chaos, this battle action-adventure game casts players as the “Hyoki,” an entity devoid of memory and physical form. His only motive is to eradicate the monstrous beings known as “Slitterheads” crawling around the city, disguising themselves as humans.

Roaming the vibrant neon-lit cityscape, players must seek out allies among humans known as “Rarities,” infiltrate and track dangerous organizations, and engage in battles harnessing the power of blood. As the suspenseful drama unfolds, delve into the mystery behind Hyoki’s existence and the appearance of the Slitterheads.
