In its early access state, the game provides players with a lot of entertaining content with a few innovations to the genres it tackles. With Palworld officially confirmed to launch on even more platforms, it would be interesting to see how Pocketpair intends to improve the game to ensure the current community continues to play while inviting potential newcomers. One way the developer can do so is through a feature shown in a recent animated short that could make Palworld stand out even more and generate further player interest.
On October 26, Palworld‘s official X (formerly Twitter) account posted an animated short that showcases an amusing moment where a Pal is accidentally captured by another. As lighthearted and entertaining as it is, that one scenario could lead to a potentially new feature that, for better or worse, affects the dynamic between players and their allied monsters. Giving a partner Pal the ability to capture wild ones could lead to many interesting gameplay opportunities that, if added, will likely turn the heads of fans of the monster-capturing genre.

How Allowing Allied Pals to Capture Wild Pals Could Affect Palworld’s Gameplay
Creating Pal Spheres in Palworld and frequently using them is a core part of the game’s identity, as it’s the mechanic used by players to be able to capture the different monsters that inhabit the world. But if the Pals themselves can be commanded to use the capturing devices, then it could potentially affect the gameplay in ways like:
- Allowing players to focus more on combat, as partner Pals can be the ones who focus on the timing of capturing whatever is being engaged in combat
- Giving players more freedom to complete other tasks, as the allied Pals can be the ones responsible for taking on the role of acquiring more wild Pals for Paldeck entries and experience bonuses
- Giving the game’s worst Pals a reason to be used, as they can at least act as temporary partners who can help with the capturing process before being eventually replaced
While such a feature will have some issues during implementation, having it will likely make Palworld‘s gameplay more engaging. It can also result in players seeing the value of Pals as other than base workers or fighters, which could potentially lead to Pocketpair doing more with them in the future.
Other Features that Could Be Implemented to Complement Pals Using Pal Spheres
If the Pals of Palworld are given the ability to capture their fellow monsters, then the game can add something that will deepen the feature. A good example is the ability to send out allied Pals to specified locations to hunt for any entities within them. Aside from synergizing with the new way of recruiting more partners, it can also open up the players to complete other tasks that don’t involve exploring or capturing. To balance out the feature and ensure it isn’t game-breaking, it can come with risks like the commanded Pal potentially dying if sent to areas with stronger opponents than it can handle, not having enough food to sustain itself, etc. If something like that were to be added, Palworld could become the standard for other games that involve capturing monsters.
If there is anything that can help Palworld receive a massive player count spike as it did with its Sakurajima update, then it’s likely a new patch that involves the implementation of a feature that improves and deepens its monster-capturing gameplay for the better. Allowing Pals to capture others of its kind could be the answer, but that’s only if Pocketpair sees the potential benefits it can bring to the game.
