Most Selfish DPS Characters In Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact has a nice combat system that perfectly mimics hack-and-slash action games with a major twist. In this game, you must focus on teamwork to deal damage through your team’s Elemental reactions. For that, matching the right characters together is necessary to create a team that can clear content in Genshin Impact.

From time to time, a new character will join Genshin’s roster that will have limited gameplay or team. These kinds of characters are selfish combat-wise and require players to play them in certain teams or playstyles. To avoid ending up with one of these characters, here’s a list of the most selfish characters in Genshin Impact.
6 Yoimiya
Suffers From Long Cooldown
Yoimiya is a strong single-target DPS who excels in Vaporize teams in Genshin Impact. When casting her Elemental Skill, Yoimiya infuses her arrows with Pyro, which gives her a few seconds of burst DMG. With this ability, she pairs perfectly with Hydro units like Xingqiu and Yelan. Their single-target DPS can take down bosses as the team Vaporizes their way through.
One of the biggest problems with Yoimiya is losing her Pyro infusion when you switch her out, putting you in a situation where you have to commit to the entire duration. It makes her somewhat of a selfish character since you’ll have to adjust the entire team to work for her, as you don’t want to lose her Elemental Skill duration because of how long the cooldown can be. This issue is not as severe as the other characters in this list as Yoimiya’s Pyro infusion only stays for a few seconds.
5 Klee
Explosions Are Not Enough Anymore
As the Meta evolved, Klee suffered to stay relevant as a Pyro DPS in Genshin Impact. Her explosions can’t bring players to pick her over other units that can deal much more DMG in a shorter duration. Not only that, Klee can’t be in fast-swap teams since her Elemental Burst demands she stays on the field. It’ll disappear if you switch her out, and she’ll lose a decent portion of her DPS. That puts Klee in the selfish zone where her demanding playstyle forces players to set up the team’s abilities before getting her out on the field to do her part of the rotation.
4 Arataki Itto
Limited Time And Team
Itto is one of the best Geo units in Genshin Impact. His ability to inflict so much Geo DMG puts him among the best DPS in the game. However, Arataki Itto suffers from two major problems that limit the way he operates.

Starting with his team building, Itto is selfish in this field, since he can’t perform in any team without Gorou. The problem with Gorou is he doesn’t offer anything but big Geo buffs, which means it’s a DPS loss not to add other Geo units that will benefit from Gorou’s utility, putting more limitations on Itto teams. You can maybe sneak Furina into his team since she’s a universal buffer, but other than that, it has to be Geo units, or it’s a DPS loss. On top of all that, Itto also loses the Geo infusion he gets from his Elemental Burst when you switch him out, which means you have to always end rotations with him staying on the field for over 10 seconds.
3 Razor
Razor Don’t Play With Others
The first Selfish character in Genshin Impact. Razor was one of the strongest DPS at the game’s launch. His ability to summon his Wolf Within and go berserk with his increased Normal ATK SPD made him appealing to Genshin Impact players. However, this is also where his problems start.
Just like most selfish DPS units, switching Razor out while he’s in his Wolf Within state will deactivate his buffs and render him completely useless for the next 20 seconds. Not only that, but Razor’s Elemental Burst needs a lot of Energy, which makes it necessary to pair him with an Electro battery that can help him regenerate energy faster.
2 Xiao
Selfish And Suicidal
Xiao is a strong AoE Anemo unit in Genshin Impact. He shines the most when he wears his Yaksha’s Mask after casting his Elemental Burst. His weapon infuses with Anemo, and he starts dealing enormous AoE DMG with his Plunge attacks. However, Xiao starts losing HP after he casts his Elemental Burst, which demands players to pair him with a healer. Not only that, he also needs an Anemo battery since his Ult requires a lot of Energy that he can’t provide for himself.

Most of Genshin Impact’s bow users are great characters, but a few stand out among them. Who are the best archers in Teyvat?
Since he’s an Anemo DPS who deals DMG with Plunge attacks, you can’t match many characters with him. Anemo is mostly a supportive Element and doesn’t have an offensive reaction that will amplify its DMG. You can only add Supportive characters who will buff Xiao or debuff enemies around him. Those limitations on top of him losing his Anemo infusion if you switch him out make Xiao one of the most Selfish DPS in Genshin Impact.
1 Cyno
The Most Selfish Of Them All
Unfortunately for Cyno mains, he suffers from every single issue in the book of selfish characters in Genshin Impact. One of Cyno’s biggest problems is his extremely long Elemental Burst duration, which doesn’t have any character that can synergize with it. That alone should crown Cyno as the most selfish character in Genshin Impact, but there’s more. Just like Razor, Cyno also needs an Electro battery to help him regenerate his Ult as he’s unable to do it himself if his build was DPS-focused. Moreover, like everyone else, he also loses his Electro infusion and becomes unplayable for a while.
As an Electro user in Genshin Impact, Cyno needs to trigger Aggravate and Hyperbloom reactions to reach a decent DPS, which is extremely hard to do when he doesn’t let anyone play for 20 seconds each rotation. Cyno is definitely not weak but suffers a lot from his selfish kit, and it’s obvious.
