Genshin Impact Leak May Reveal Citlali's Rarity and Release Date

Genshin Impact Leak May Reveal Citlali’s Rarity and Release Date

Key Takeaways

  • Internal testing hints at Citlali as a 5-star in Genshin Impact V5.3.
  • Citlali could revive Cryo in Genshin Impact with a focus on Melt reactions.
  • A new 5-star shield support and buffs in V5.2 show devs want Cryo to thrive.

According to a recent leak in the Genshin Impact community, internal testing for Citlali once again establishes her as a 5-Star character set for release in Version 5.3. While Mualani, Kinich, and Xilonen have set high expectations for Natlan in Genshin Impact, most players are eagerly waiting to see if the Pyro Archon finally provides a worthwhile alternative to Xiangling and Bennett. The community will have its answers in Version 5.3, but Mavuika is not the only character rumored to make a debut in the upcoming patch.

The other half of the coin is Citlali, a Cryo character in Genshin Impact who has become something of a fan favorite after her introduction in Version 5.1. Whereas other elements each have their role in the meta, Cryo has been in an awkward spot since the launch of Sumeru. Gone are the days of Ayaka and Ganyu dominating the floors of the Spiral Abyss, and the community has the impression that the developers aren’t quite sure how to make Cryo relevant in modern Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact: Best Burning Team

Burning is an underrated Elemental Reaction in Genshin Impact although it holds a hidden power.

While Wriothesley in Genshin Impact has given Cryo new life, it has been over a year since his sole banner appearance in Version 4.1, and several Fontaine characters have had their first (or even second) rerun since. That being said, recent information provided via Flying Flame claims that internal testing is currently focused on a team featuring Mavuika, Citlali, Chasca, and Pyro Traveler, with the latter seemingly set to receive their ability kit in Version 5.3. Flying Flame also claims that Citlali is a 5-Star character with a release date set for Version 5.3, which lines up with earlier rumors concerning the Cryo character.

How Citlali Can Improve Cryo in Genshin Impact

The best teams for Cryo in Genshin Impact tend to be focused around Melt, but the lack of Pyro characters that can fulfill Xiangling’s role has hampered Melt as a reaction. With Citlali in Genshin Impact rumored to be a 5-Star Shield Support with off-field Cryo potential, and with Mavuika expected to be a 5-Star version of Xiangling, it would seem that HoYoverse is hoping to establish a viable core for Melt teams in Version 5.3.

Ultimately, leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, as ability kits can dramatically change from conception to launch. Players will be able to find out more about Citlali and Mavuika after the release of Version 5.2 on November 20, 2024. Given the flexibility of Zhongli and Baizhu in Genshin Impact, a 5-Star Shield Support has the potential to set the stage for a Cryo revival over the course of the Natlan era. With certain Elemental Reactions such as Superconduct, Freeze, and Shatter also receiving a buff in Version 5.2, the developers definitely want Cryo to thrive – the only thing missing is modern characters to support it.
