G2 and Spirit set-up Grand Final clash in BLAST World Final 2024

After all the Counter-Strike action over the last few days, we’ve whittled eight of the best CS2 teams in the world down to two at the BLAST World Final 2024. G2 and Spirit are the cream of the crop, beating Vitality and Astralis, respectively, to set up a mouth-watering Grand Final clash. Read on to find out how the Semi-Finals of the BLAST Premier World Final went on the server.

G2 survive Vitality scare

G2 vs. Vitality has ultimately gone the way of the complete roster. Vitality offered up a valiant effort with stand-in JACKZ,  but it wasn’t enough as G2 took this Semi-Final 2:1. G2 won the opener confidently, but a resurgent Vitality on the second map of Inferno had things looking a little scary in the BLAST World Final 2024. G2 provided a real clinic on Mirage, securing their fourth Grand Final appearance of 2024 in Singapore.

In terms of individuals, this was a series all about m0NESY. G2’s young AWPer is a bonafide Counter-Strike superstar. For our money, there’s no better player in the world right now, and there’s not a single team he can’t single-handedly beat when he’s locked in. Here, he went 63:36 to drag his team across the finish line, even the likes of malbsMd and huNter- didn’t have their best days at the office. With m0NESY playing like this, G2 can do anything.

Spirit trade blows to end Astralis momentum

It wasn’t easy, but Spirit were able to join G2 in the Grand Final of the BLAST World Final 2024 by beating a resurgent Astralis. There was to be no upsetting the CS2 odds here – this was the favorites coming out on top. Both Spirit and Astralis were able to take their own map picks of Dust2 and Vertigo respectively, but there was a real gulf in class on the Ancient decider that showed how far away Astralis are at the moment from being able to compete consistently at the top. The dominant 13:5 decider underlined this perfectly.

Still, it was good to see a glimpse of vintage dev1ce here (if you can forget about the final map). He showed some positive signs that indicated he’s finding some good individual form once again – a positive omen for Astralis. Meanwhile, Spirit were bolstered by a massive performance from chopper, the IGL showing his young team how it’s done by leading from the front. Oh, and donk was great again, but what’s new there?

So – G2 vs. Spirit, and m0NESY vs. donk. Could this be the match that decides this year’s number-one player? It certainly could be. Stay tuned to see how these two teams fare in tomorrow’s BLAST World Final 2024 Grand Final!
