Fortnite Remix Update Mixes up Chapter 2

The event has wrapped up with a good look at what’s coming with Chapter 2 Remix! The Fortnite Remix update is nearly here, but it isn’t quite what we expected. While the whole Chapter 2 return turned out to be right, everyone’s been proven a bit wrong with the details. The Fortnite Remix update is going to live up to its name.

Rather than just revisiting OG content like last year, Fortnite is becoming an ad for a month. The Chapter 2 map is coming back, but this time the weekly schedule is dominated by the collabs. Each week we’ll see another POI getting remixed with a rap artist. Along with a changing loot pool over the course of the season. What coming with Fortnite Remix?

Fortnite Remix Brings Back Chapter 2 With a Twist

The big news of the latest update is the return of the Fortnite Chapter 2 map! This tie it’s a map mainly inspired by the early seasons of Fortnite Chapter 2. However, with a particularly heavy influence of Chapter 2 Season 2.

However, rather than having the classic Fortnite characters from the Agency back as bosses they’re being taken over by crossover musicians. Each week a new one will drop, overriding a classic POI and bringing new mechanics in with them.

New Map

The new map for the Fortnite Remix update is mainly inspired by Chapter 2. However, over the course of the mini-season, we’ll see a few spots replaced. The Agency is the Doghouse, the Shark is an Ice Spice POI, and Grotto is now Eminem’s spaghetti restaurant.

New Bosses That Become Allies

A big part of the “Remix” section of Chapter 2 is replacing old bosses with new musician collab characters. Defeat these and you’ll get a new form of Mythic. However, they’ll also join you afterwards. Kind of like the hireable NPCs locations but you’ll need to fight them first.

New Items in Fortnite Remix Update

It’s not just the classic loot pool returning. Instead, Epic’s putting in a bunch of new items too. One of the first is a new vehicle, a Cadillac. It drives, can jump in the air, and bounces to music. Definitely different from the vehicle-light early Chapter 2 gameplay. Motorboats and Choppers are returning too though.

A number of classic weapons will be cycled in throughout the season too. We’re getting the classic Chapter 2 loot, with its original Assault Rifle, Shotguns, and more. Even the Mythic Goldfish has made a return!

Remix is definitely making quite a few changes. Outside of the weekly POIs though, we’re getting quite a classic Chapter 2 experience. It’ll still be fun to revisit this era of Fortnite’s seasons for a short few weeks.
