Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is going down pretty well with fans, despite mixed reviews on Steam over bugs, with the game’s new Zombies mode proving to be a real highlight for many fans. We’ve already seen tons of people dive in to try and uncover secrets, solving the Liberty Falls easter egg almost instantly, while finding other fun little surprises like God Mode and superpowers.
There’s a lot of fun to be had with the mode, but there is one thing right now that fans hate more than anything else, and it’s ruining a fun experience for a lot of people – AFK timers. That might sound pretty silly to those of you who haven;t actually played Black Ops 6’s Zombie mode, but fans have been calling for Activision to remove the timers that they deem are unnecessarily harsh right now.
Black Ops 6 Players Hate The AFK Timer In Zombies
One such player is Reddit user DiegoMm, who shared a clip of the AFK timer being absolutely baffling on the CODZombies subreddit. In DiegoMm’s clip (which you can find embedded above), it appears as though they’re kicked for inactivity despite moving around while trying to solve one of the steps for the Liberty Falls easter egg. They can be seen walking between two whiteboards, before then checking the leaderboards, only to be suddenly booted out for what the game calls “inactivity”.
After loading back in, DiegoMm claims they had their entire loadout taken away and replaced with their starting loadout, along with just 3,000 points and no salvage, pretty much destroying all the progress that they made. They’re not the only player to have issues with this timer either, as another fan called SangerD more angrily expresses their frustration with the timer in a separate post on the subreddit.

As Dempsey would say, REJUICED.
They rather frustratedly claim that Activision needs to “make the game playable offline or remove the greed timer”, claiming that fans playing solo should be able to “pause their game for as long as they want to” since they paid a premium for the game in the first place. In that same thread, many are calling for Activision to bring back offline mode, and let players play through the Zombies campaign more easily.
Hopefully, Activision will actually do something about these timers, as they’re pretty much the only thing that fans have issues with at the moment. While it seems unlikely Activision will actually put the effort in and create an offline mode for Zombies, it ould at the very least either scrap or extend the timers to make them actually function properly. While we don’t know if this is in the game’s plans, the developer is more likely to address it if complaints keep piling up.
Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
