Warzone’s leaked Avalon map has been in Black Ops 6’s beta all along

Warzone won’t bring a new battle royale map with Black Ops 6, instead bringing Area 99 to Resurgence. The Avalon map is leaked to arrive with CoD 2025 but you can actually play sections of it during BO6’s beta.

Since CoD’s battle royale arrived, almost every game has arrived with its own large-scale Warzone map: Verdansk ’84 with Cold War, Caldera with Vanguard, Al Mazrah with MW2, and Urzikstan with MW3. Despite rumors of Verdansk’s return, many expected Avalon to come with Black Ops 6.

Instead, the Area 99 Resurgence map arrives alongside the Black Ops 6 integration with Season 1, and Verdansk returns in Spring 2025.

An Avalon teaser was found inside Rebirth Island and was briefly shown in a trailer. It was then leaked in the huge datamine at the beginning of August that showcased the entire area which includes classic maps such as Firing Range, WMD, and Hacienda.

If you head into the beta’s Training Course, you’ll actually be dropped onto one of Avalon’s islands that were shown off in the leaks.

As shown by YouTuber TheTacticalBrit, the devs planted some Easter eggs too. Go to the downstairs area and you’ll find the same map of Avalon spotted in the BO6 reveal. It looks a little small for a full Warzone map, but leaks revealed the full map will be much bigger and feature islands like the one the Training Course takes place on.

Not only that, the Skyline map from the beta is also set in Avalon so you can get a good look at the surrounding areas here.

According to Insider Gaming, Avalon is set to arrive toward the end of 2025 with the next Call of Duty game. Rumors suggest it’ll be a sequel to Black Ops 6 in the same way Modern Warfare 3 followed 2022’s MW2 but we’ll need to wait for an official announcement to know for sure.

Of course, these are only leaks and rumors for now, so there’s a chance Avalon has been scrapped and will never see the full light of day.
