- Fans don’t believe a tournament should be taking place when Undisputed is still riddled with bugs and balancing issues.
Undisputed fans are taking to social media to express their disappointment with developer Steel City Interactive after the studio announced a new tournament for later this month. While this might not seem like a massive issue to some, Undisputed launched with some severe bugs and game-breaking elements that Steel City says won’t be addressed until December, making a tournament all the more baffling.
Ever since the last Fight Night game was released in 2010, combat sports fans have been begging a new developer to step forward with another major boxing game. While there are rumors of EA reviving the Fight Night franchise, Undisputed still remains the only triple-a boxing game on the market. Unfortunately, despite being in early access for almost two years, the game launched on October 8 with a plethora of balance issues and glitches, resulting in a ‘mostly negative’ review badge on Steam.

Undisputed Fans Angry Over New Tournament
While Steel City has promised to fix Undisputed in a new update in December, fans have been left baffled and annoyed after the studio promoted an upcoming tournament on its social media. Currently, one of the game’s biggest issues is related to power punches, as online multiplayer has been blasted as “unplayable” by fans due to the constant spamming by other players. This particular punch is in need of a serious nerf, but fans will be left with one of the most frustrating online experiences to date until December. Somehow, that hasn’t stopped Steel City from revealing a new tournament.
Over on Reddit, user LeonTHowitt posted a screenshot of the tournament announcement, which will take place on November 10 at the Mendez Boxing Gym in New York, and said, “A whole tournament before they even fix their game in December is CRAZYYYYY.” Other users joked that the Undisputed tournament would be a power punch “spam fest.” YouTuber Martial Mind also spoke out about the tournament, taking to Twitter to sarcastically refer to the announcement as “fantastic.”
There’s no denying that Undisputed still needs a lot of work, and it’s not just related to the game’s power punches. While that is the number one thing fans are dying to see fixed, Steel City has also acknowledged the desync issues plaguing multiplayer matches. It’s just another reason why Undisputed‘s online modes are borderline unplayable, as the issue is causing players to see two completely different situations at the exact same time. While one user may believe they are out of their opponent’s range, the other player is actually right in the pocket throwing haymakers left and right.
