Dragon Age: TheVeilguard players have already come across one legendary catchphrase originally spoken by Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect 2. The day many fans have been waiting a long time for has finally arrived as BioWare’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard has finally completed its lengthy development journey.

The long wait has apparently been worth it as Dragon Age: The Veilguard has seemingly been a hit with both critics and now players, earning high marks on websites and online marketplaces like Steam. With 5 difficulties to choose from, multiple player classes to spec into, and plenty of ways to alter the game’s story, BioWare is clearly hoping players will be adventuring through Thedas for a long time. The moment in question was shared by Reddit user SirBigWater as they attempted to speak with the Elven engineer, Bellara. While attempting to repair the Eluvian mirror, the player’s Rook can attempt to speak with Bellara, which will leads to a few canned catchphrases. However, once that dialogue has been exhausted, Bellara utters a phrase that will likely leave long term fans thinking of the popular Mass Effect trilogy companion, Garrus Vakarian.

The Origins of the Mass Effect Easter Egg

Bellara’s reply left many in the comments laughing and drawing comparisons to both engineering-heavy characters. While both characters appear to be fans of calibrating things, the phrase could be originally heard in Mass Effect 2 when players would continually attempt to hear new dialogue from Garrus. Once exhausted of new options, Garrus would reply that he was busy and in the middle of some calibrations. The catchphrase quickly became a meme for those in the community, becoming a beloved aspect to the character.

With the long journey of Dragon Age: The Veilguard now at an end, Mass Effect is likely the next big game from BioWare. While the studio has teased information over the past year, Project Lead Michael Gamble has already spoken about some Dragon Age design choices that won’t be making the jump.
