The popular sci-fi thriller Severance is finally on its way for an exciting and intriguing season two in only a few months but, as yet, not much has been disclosed about what thriller fans can expect this time around. However, a new sentence detail that’s been added to the show’s Apple TV+ description seems to point at Mark and friends’ upcoming difficulties. Released in 2022, Severance has since become a huge hit with an even bigger cult following, mostly due to the show’s engaging writing, top-notch cinematography and set design, as well as a stellar cast lineup. Not only did Severance earn itself a healthy score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, the dystopian show also received 14 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Co-directed by Ben Stiller, who also helmed Zoolander 2 and The Cable Guy, Severance season one follows the plot of several employees who opt to have their memories ‘severed’, a medical procedure undertaken by the company, which separates their personal life from their work life. Unfortunately, Mark, a Lumon Industries employee, realizes that the organization is hiding something sinister and begins to dig for answers, which further unravels a new kind of hell for not only him, but for the rest of the group as well. Season one ended with a heart-pounding cliffhanger, but finally, after over two years of waiting, Severance fans will get to see what’s in store for Mark and his companions.

Severance Season Two’s Updated Apple TV+ Description Spells Trouble for Mark and Friends
In a post on Reddit, user YasiraBoysen has stumbled across a new description added by Apple TV+ regarding Severance season two‘s cast members, specifically Mark and his colleagues. In the screenshot of the show’s previous description, it’s clear that Apple has since updated its storyline and has added a new sentence to describe what’s in store for the group in season two. While the blurb now states that Mark and friends will suffer “dire consequences” due to messing with the severance procedure, which will ultimately pave a path of misery, the description doesn’t give any more details on what anguish is actually in store for the group, but it’s fair to assume it’s going to be horrendous, whatever it is.
In Severance season one’s finale, Mark’s “outie” got to tell his sister about what has been really happening at Lumon, as well as Helly and Irwing beginning to get to grips with who they are and what was at stake, but now due to Apple’s updated description, the fear is that Lumon will find a way to erase their memories again in a bid to eradicate everything the group has realized and push them back into the office like nothing ever happened. However, it will be interesting to see how Helly will react in season two, since she found out that her “outie” is the daughter of Lumon Industries CEO and creator of the severance chip. The hope is that Severance season two will answer some of the show’s most confusing theories and tie up those mind-bending mysteries once and for all.
As well as new and exciting character plotlines to explore, season two will have several new additions to the cast this time around. Game of Throne‘s Gwendoline Christie is arriving in Severance, as well as Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, Merritt Wever, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannante, John Noble, Ólafur Darri and Sarah Bock. Severance season two will be released via Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025.
