Pokemon's FunKon Exclusive Jumbo Palkia Funko Pop Releases Today

Pokemon’s FunKon Exclusive Jumbo Palkia Funko Pop Releases Today

Key Takeaways

  • Funko will be releasing its five FunKon exclusive Funko Pops on its website at 12:30pm EST today.
  • The headliner of the five drops is a Jumbo Palkia Pop that is limited to just 1,000 figures.
  • Joining it will be Paddington, Homer Simpson, Reiju from One Piece, and Haganezuka from Demon Slayer.

While more popular Pokemon like Pikachu and Scorbunny are shoo-ins for the Funko Pop treatment, Funko has found a way to turn Pokemon that aren’t quite as mainstream into figures that are still highly sought-after. It does that by making them convention exclusives, and the Jumbo Palkia Pop that will be available as a FunKon exclusive today will be the third and final example of that in 2024.

Pokemon’s first convention-exclusive Funko Pop of the year was a Jumbo Arceus that dropped during San Diego Comic-Con and predictably sold out almost immediately. The same happened when Jumbo Dialga was released during New York Comic-Con, and it’s almost inevitable that once Palkia goes on sale at Funko later today, it won’t be around for long. Particularly because we already know how few of them are going to be available.

Shadowheart, Astarion, and Karlach have been Funko Popped.

Palkia is one of five Pops that will go on sale at 12:30pm EST today and according to Funko Pop News, it will be by far the most limited. If the Funko Pop account is right, and it usually is, only 1,000 of the Jumbo Palkia Pops will be available and since it’s a FunKon exclusive, once the figures have sold out, they will likely be sold out for good.

Pokemon’s Jumbo Palkia Funko Pop Will Be Available To Buy From 12:30pm EST Today

But With Only 1,000 Of Them Up For Grabs, It Won’t Be In Stock For Long

If it wasn’t already obvious by my repeated use of the word Jumbo, Pakia’s figure is quite a bit bigger than a standard Funko Pop at almost nine inches tall. For reference, that’s more than twice the size of standard pops which tend to be around four inches tall. The price of the Palkia Pop will reflect that though as, much like the Arceus and Dialga figures released at prior conventions this year, it’ll cost you $45 if you want to be one of the thousand people who owns one.

The other four FunKon exclusives joining Palkia at 12:30pm EST today are Paddington, Homer Simpson, Reiju from One Piece, and Demon Slayer’s Haganezuka. All of them are standard-sized Pops so will be considerably cheaper than the limited edition Pokemon offering ($15 each) and while none of them will be quite as scarce as Palkia, they’re all limited in quantity ranging from 4,000 figures to 20,000 figures.

Jumbo Palkia Funko Pop!
Jumbo Palkia Funko Pop!

A legendary Pokemon that has had the honor of gracing the cover of not just one Pokemon game, but two, Palkia has been turned into a Funko Pop. A Jumbo Funko Pop standing at almost nine inches tall that was an exclusive release for Funkon 2024. It rounded out a year of convention-exclusive Pop releases for Funko, following in the footsteps of Arceus and Dialga.

It’s been a busy week for Funko Pops although that was to be expected since it ends with FunKon. Five new Dungeons & Dragons Pops were released and revealed, including a GameStop-exclusive Gelatinous Cube, and a new range of Game Of Thrones Bitty Pops featuring characters from throughout the series is also available now.
