With complaints of slow progression and an expensive shop, you’d imagine The Pokemon Company would be doing what it could to change sentiment. Instead, it’s just added a new shop with prices 50 percent higher.
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s New Monthly Shop Is More Expensive
Two of the main items players are likely to purchase from Pokemon TCG Pocket’s in-game shop are Pack Hourglasses and Wonder Hourglasses. These items allow players to forgo the extensive wait time between opening packs.
When the game launched, players could pick up a single Pack or Wonder Hourglass from the ‘Hourglasses’ section of the shop for two Shop Tickets and six Pack or Wonder Hourglasses for 12, with a limit of ten of each.
Inflation hitting within two days of launch is crazy.
The new ‘Refreshed Monthly: Hourglasses’ shop lists the same items in the same quantities, except they’re 50 percent more expensive, costing three and 18 Shop Tickets, respectively, once again with a limit of ten purchases.
The reaction, as you can imagine, has not been positive, with one player on Reddit declaring, “I guess they decided we were having too much fun,” and another adding, “Inflation hitting within two days of launch is crazy.”
Pokemon TCG Pocket’s new shop tier did launch alongside some good news, with the game’s first event now live. The Wonder Pick Event Part 1 will give players the opportunity to get brand-new Chansey and Meowth promo cards from Wonder Picks, alongside some new Meowth-related items in the game’s Shop. It’s far from the most exciting event, but it’s something.
