Monster Hunter Rise: Where to Get Firestone

Monster Hunter Rise: Where to Get Firestone

Not all crafting materials found in Monster Hunter Rise come from the mainline quest monsters or even ‘flagship’ monsters. No, true veterans of the franchise know that a majority of the necessary crafting materials come from exploring all the different biomes Monster Hunter Rise has to offer. To be more specific, items found lying on the ground, gathered from plant life, carved from Mining Outcrops, or Carved from Small Monsters.

Monster Hunter: 10 Rarest Monsters In The Games

The Monster Hunter series is home to a plethora of powerful monsters. Some, however, are incredibly hard to find because of how rare they are.

One such component is Firestone. And, this Material is primarily found in Mining Outcrops in both Low-Rank and High-Rank versions of Fire Caverns. There are a few quests that will award it, but obtaining it that way is a much more roundabout method than necessary. Rather than that, most players recommend just loading up a Lava Caverns Expedition to run around and farm all the Mining Outcrops on the map instead. In fact, if a group of friends playing Rise could all do this together, then the process becomes even faster. And, since this item spawns in both versions of the Lava Caversn, Firestone is, expectedly, a core component in many Low and High-Rank weapons and armor.

Updated November 1st, 2024 by Jacob Buchalter: The Monster Hunter games are honestly almost as much about hunting materials as they are about hunting monsters. To craft everything you’re going to need for these games, be it weapons, armor, or items, you’ll need a ton of materials. And, some of these materials are a bit more rare than the rest of their counterparts. Firestone, for example, is not exactly hard to get, but it does only show up in very specific areas and Quest Rewards. So, let’s take a look at where you can find Firestone, how to efficiently farm it, and what the material is used in.

Where to Find Firestone

It’s Only Found on One Map

Monster Hunter Rise - Looking At Firestone In Item Box

Firestone, a material in Monster Hunter Rise, is a type of Ore, and Ore is primarily found by using a Pickaxe on the Mining Outcrops spread throughout most of the maps. And, Firestone is acquired in exactly the same way, though it is exclusively found on one map called the Lava Caverns. While the act of mining outcrops might not be one players of the more ‘standard’ hunting games are familiar with, it’s something that is pretty integral to the Monster Hunter titles.

The Mining Outcrops are, by far, the best way to ‘farm’ Firestone. But, for the players that would rather get it from quests instead (for some reason), here is the very short list of quests where Firestone is a potential reward:

Now, compared to some of the more tedious-to-farm materials in Monster Hunter Rise, players are going to need a hefty amount of Firestone if they want to craft everything it’s used in. This mineral ore is part of a lot of different weapon trees:

Primarily Low-Rank Armor

Monster Hunter Rise - An Example Of Gear That Uses Firestone

Not only do a ton of different weapon trees use Firestone but there’s a substantial amount of both Low and High-Rank armor sets that use it too. However, because this material is mostly reserved for Low-Rank and High-Rank gear, most Sunbreak players won’t need to worry about Firestone at all.

Also, players won’t need to farm Firestone quite as much as they would to build all the weapons, but it’s still a hefty list:
