Major GTA Online Update Releases This December; PS5/Series X Features Come To PC In 2025
Rockstar Games is continuing to update and expand Grand Theft Auto Online, and a major new update is coming this December. The developer has announced a new robbery-themed expansion is coming to the multiplayer experience next month, focused on the Darnell Bros. Garment Factory.
The factory is under new management, now being run by Pavel and a former FIB officer. Players will help them convert the factory into a “hive for clandestine infiltration operations.” From the base, players can launch into “a bevy of thrilling and strategic new robberies.”
Players can access these missions from a computer terminal inside the factory, or remotely through a new app coming to the in-game phone, iFruit.
The December GTA Online update will also add more Dispatch missions, new cars, updates to Job Creator, and introduce more upgrades to the Benefactor Terrorbyte truck.
Outside of the December update, Rockstar said it’s continuing to work on various “enhancements” to GTA Online, including having Body Armor stock automatically refill when starting new missions. Beyond this, Rockstar said GTA Online will continue to receive weekly events and bonuses and seasonal celebrations themed around real-world holidays.
Additionally, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S features exclusive to those platforms are finally coming to the PC edition of the game; fans have been requesting this for some time. These undisclosed features will come to PC in 2025, and Rockstar said it will share more information later.
GTA Online launched in October 2013, which was a few weeks after the base game debuted in September of that year. The game has been steadily supported over the years and has a passionate fanbase. The game is “the gift that keeps on giving” for Take-Two, because it brings in so much money.
Many are wondering what’s going to happen to GTA Online when GTA 6 launches in 2025, and that remains to be seen.
