  • Mica Team plans to bring Girls’ Frontline back in a new form.
  • This suspension is temporary and will not affect the English server or other foreign servers.
  • Downloads for Girls’ Frontline across all platforms have already been closed.

MICA Team has announced that they will suspend service for Girls’ Frontline on its original Chinese server after eight years, with operations set to cease on December 31, 2024, due to unsuccessful contract renewal negotiations. This is a temporary shutdown, as the MICA Team assures that they are committed to reviving Girls’ Frontline in a new form.

Girls’ Frontline is suspending service due to the expiration of the cooperation contract with the publisher

Girls’ Frontline is a turn-based strategy game developed by MICA Team that was released in Mainland China on May 20, 2016. In this game, you can collect and command echelons of female android characters known as T-Dolls, each equipped with a unique real-world firearm.

MICA Team shared the unfortunate news about the suspension of service for Girls’ Frontline on BiliBili, citing the expiration of their agreement with server providers. As a result, the mainland Chinese version of the game will cease services on December 31, 2024, by licensing terms.

According to the announcement translated by a fellow Reddit user, this suspension will be a temporary farewell. The story of Girls’ Frontline isn’t over just yet as in other titles of the series, familiar T-Dolls will continue to accompany you in new ways. Additionally, the team is planning to bring Girls’ Frontline back in a new form.

The second announcement clarifies it is temporary and will not impact other servers

As part of the EOS process, downloads across all platforms have already been closed, and new user registrations have stopped. You will be unable to recharge starting November 30, 2024, and the game will officially cease operations on December 31, 2024. However, there is good news for the Chinese fans as the developers have arranged a compensation plan.

The first announcement on BiliBili raised concerns among fans, especially since Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium just recently began a closed beta for mobile and PC. However, the team later provided a more concise update on Discord regarding the EOS, clarifying that the EOS is temporary and will not impact the EN Server or other foreign servers.

We hope that they come up with a solution quickly and this situation doesn’t affect their latest title. Stay tuned here for more updates regarding Girl’s Frontline.
