Fortnite Leak Teases New Game Mode

Fortnite leakers have suggested that a 5v5 mode is coming to the game in the near future, possibly during Chapter 6. The next Fortnite season is set to begin soon, and speculation is already running rampant on what it may include.

As Fortnite continues to roll from one season into the next, new items, cosmetics, and map locations are introduced. Among those included in Chapter 5 Season 4 are War Machine’s Arsenal, Spider-Woman, and Castle Doom respectively. Chapter 4 Season 3 introduced a new game mode with a classic feel called Fortnite Reload. In Fortnite Reload, players can respawn regardless of whether they’re rebooted as long as a member of their Squad is still alive. Another game mode may be set to arrive in the game soon according to well-known leakers with a solid track record.

Epic Games reveals the roadmap for the upcoming Fortnite Remix event, and it seems like it is going to be an action-packed season ahead.

Known Fortnite leaker HypeX recently tweeted that a 10-player game mode is coming to Fortnite soon. This 10-player game mode is a smaller type of Fortnite that pits two teams of five against each other. While HypeX didn’t suggest a specific season that this may happen, it is “likely” to arrive during Fortnite Chapter 6. According to HypeX, it’s also unknown what this mode will be like beyond the smaller team dynamic. Providing some additional credibility to the leak, Shiina echoed HypeX and stated that Epic Games “added new data to their servers” and that Epic has “confirmed” that a new game mode is coming this year.

Fortnite Leakers Suggest a New Game Mode is Coming Soon

Because two known Fortnite leakers have claimed the 5v5 game mode is coming, it may be more credible than a standard rumor. As few details were shared beyond the 5v5 aspect, it’s unclear when exactly gamers will be able to play it. Given that Battle Royale and Zero Build feature different gameplay mechanics, it’s also unknown if the 5v5 mode will include building. Fortnite Creative has many maps that have small teams of players in various settings, which could help eager fans gauge what the new mode may feel like. As it’s rumored to feature two small teams against each other, this game mode could focus on smaller points of interest or include exclusive maps made with 5v5 in mind.

As Epic Games continues to update Fortnite, this potential 5v5 mode may not be the last one introduced to the game. Given the developer hasn’t confirmed the 5v5 game mode, this leak may not come to fruition and should be treated as a rumor for now.
