When is the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 5 release date? The island is now teeming with Marvel heroes and villains following the launch of season 4, and with the first live event of the season complete and Dr. Doom still raging through the island, who knows what’ll happen next?
As the season 4 finale event nears, battle royale game fans prepare for a new season, and now it’s here we know a bit more about the Fortnite chapter 5 Season 5 release date and what it entails, including a change to the Battle Pass system and a nostalgic trip back to Chapter 1.
When is the next season of Fortnite?
The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 5 release date is Saturday, November 2, 2024, and has been confirmed as Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 in an official Tweet.
There is a season-end event on November 1, 2024, and this will lead to downtime afterwards – make sure to check our Fortnite server status guide if you’re having trouble getting in. We anticipate the game will be down from around 2pm PDT / 5pm EDT / 9pm GMT.
As soon as the Fortnite servers go offline, Epic Games will roll out the next update that players can download, ready for the Chapter 5 Season 5 launch. Previous updates have usually been around 95GB, so depending on your download speed, this may take a while. As with the beginning of every season, there will be a queue to get in at first while the servers deal with a massive number of people booting up the game at once.
New Season details
Fortnite Remix Season 2 is the second Fortnite season that takes us back to the old days. The Chapter 1 Season 2 map returns, but likely with a few changes here and there. This could mean the return of some old fan-favorites from the time, including Dirty Docks, Lazy Lake, and Slurpy Swamp.
It also seems this season could be shorter than most, with a finale event scheduled for November 30, 2024, though we’re not yet sure what this actually means for the game and the season, as they’re usually around three months long.
In another change this season, we know that the Battle Pass is changing, and Battle Stars are no more. Given that there are now three main Fortnite games: Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival, each with their own separate pass, Epic has decided to do away with the current Battle Star system, and just let you progress through all your passes at the same time with XP.
