Off The Grid system requirements demand RTX 3060 as minimum graphics card
If you were hoping your old and dusty gaming PC would meet the Off The Grid system requirements, I have some bad news. This new early access battle royale game demands an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 as the minimum graphics card, and an RTX 4070 as the recommended.
It’s not often that one of the best graphics cards from the last few years features in the recommended tier of a game system requirements, but Off The Grid is an exception to the rule. As the game is still in early access, this could be down to issues with optimization, and the demands of the game could lessen closer to the final release.
Here are the Off The Grid system requirements:
Minimum | Recommended | |
OS | Windows 10 to later | Windows 10 to later |
GPU | Intel Core i5-9400 | Intel Core i7-12700 |
CPU | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 | Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 |
RAM | 16GB | 32GB |
Storage | 21.15GB | 21.15GB |
Shockingly, the Off The Grid minimum requirements list an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, and even though it was underpowered for its price at the time of its release, it’s still a surprise to see it listed.
So many modern games choose to list an older Nvidia GeForce GTX card as the minimum GPU, but this could be down to the fact the game is still in early access. Alongside this graphics card, you’ll need an Intel Core i5-9400 and 16GB of RAM.
As for the Off The Grid recommended specs, developer Gunzilla Games makes the remarkable decision to list an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, Intel Core i7-12700, and 32GB of RAM. This is very close to being what some games may demand at optional high or ultra specs levels, so to see this as the recommended is quite worrying.
Time will tell whether these specs are anywhere near what is actually required to run the game, and it’s also notable that no AMD alternatives are listed in the system requirements either.
The Off The Grid download size is a very modest 21.15GB, and there are no notes suggesting that one of the best gaming SSDs is required, although I personally recommend using one for the best in-game loading times.
