How Will Fortnite Reload Solos Work?
Yet another new mode is coming to Fortnite, this time it’s Fortnite Reload Solos. The Reload mode has been a big part of the game since it launched a couple of seasons ago. Over time, we’ve seen more playlists added for the mode. First Duos, and now Solo players can get in on it.
The Fortnite Reload mode has some specific mechanics at work which add to the game beyond just being a mini–Battle Royale. The main one, is Reboots. It’s where the Reload name partially comes from. How exactly are respawns going to work in a Solos game? And what’s coming with Fortnite Reload Solos?
Fortnite Reload Solos Announced
Epic has recently announced that Fortnite Reload Solos are coming soon. We’ve known this mode was in the works for a little while, but until now details have been pretty sparse. However, between this new mode and the new Reload map coming it looks like there are going to be quite a few expansions coming. The Fortnite Reload Solos mode has had a few key details leaked. While they could change, we have some idea of how Reloads are going to be handled.
In the normal Fortnite Reload, players rely on one teammate staying alive. As long as one is still there, you respawn after being killed. What about Fortnite Reload Solos? In this mode, you’ll spawn in with two reloads pre-set. When you die, you’ll automatically use these. Just like the main Reload mode, they get turned off at a certain point. However, any unused reboots will turn into an extra overshield.
This feels like a fair way to balance things. It was always going to be tricky to get the more casual gameplay of Reload to work in Solos, but this does seem like a good fit.
When Will Solos Release?
When exactly will Fortnite Reload Solos come to the game? Fortnite’s in a bit of a busy period right now. We’re expecting two of the biggest Fortnite updates to hit in a matter of hours, with a new live event followed by Fortnite Remix release date. We’re expecting Reload Solos to be in one of these updates, on November 2nd along with the Reload map changes.
Adding another mode will also help to flesh out Reload for more tournaments. We’re already seeing a growing number of events for the game. Fortnite Reload competitive might even end up as another dominant part of esports, with tournaments, stand-out players, its own meta, and Fortnite betting too. However, Duos is usually more of a focus for tournaments than Solos.
